Chelsea. Gafkjen is in her third year as choral director at Nagel Middle School and Turpin High School in Cincinnati, OH. She is also the dance team coach at Nagel Middle School. Ms. Gafkjen is a native of Marion, OH where she studied voice with Stephanie Carter Hinkle and piano with Merrill Cooper. She attended Capital University in Columbus, OH where she obtained her bachelor’s of music education degree.

While at Capital, she studied voice with Lynn Roseberry and conducting with Dr. Lynda R. Hasseler. She is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, Music Educator’s Association, the Ohio Music Education Association and Sigma Alpha Iota Fraternity.

In her spare time, Ms. Gafkjen loves cooking, camping and Cleveland Browns football.
