Orchestra Private Lessons
It is strongly recommended that students study privately. Invariably, top positions, honors, awards, and scholarships go to those students who study the fine points of their instrument. If you are interested in auditioning for honor groups or scholarships, you must keep in mind the big picture that the other students, no more talented than you, are practicing their instrument and studying privately. Seventh and eighth grade is the perfect time for students to begin private instruction on their instruments. Private Lessons are valuable because they address your specific needs, something that cannot always be done in a large group setting. One quick tip or observation by an instructor may save hours, days, weeks, or months of experimentation. If you are an advanced player, private lessons will challenge you more. If you feel inadequate as a player, private lessons will give you direction for improvement and playing with more confidence. As a private student, you will have the responsibility of attending your lessons regularly and applying the ideas and techniques you explore during your private lesson to your daily practice routine.
